Kim Wells, M.A.Kim Wells Headshot

Kim Wells is Director of Organization Development and Learning at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and has over 25 years of experience in human resources and talent management. She leads the team in charge of performance management, employee engagement, leadership development, and learning. She works with a team of researchers to implement early investigator leadership training and coaches teams responsible for an organization-wide leadership program. Kim started the first DEI effort at Fred Hutch in 2000 and chaired the Diversity Committee for several years.

Her Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington included work in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods to study organizational interventions. Prior to beginning her work in healthcare (at Ballard Community Hospital, Providence Medical Center) and cancer research, Kim was an English instructor at Seattle Central Community College where she taught writing and speech courses.

She is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Tomorrow and also was the chair of the Leadership Tomorrow curriculum committee. Kim has served on many community boards, including Bridges Multicultural Theater and BirdNote. She was chair of both boards, serving most recently as the chair of BirdNote from 2018-2020.
