Board of Trustees
The Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees derives its leadership authority from statutes in the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapter 28B. The Board is a five-member board appointed by the Governor of the State of Washington and confirmed by the Washington State Senate. The role of the Board is to provide leadership through policy governance of the College, and though selection, supervision, and evaluation of the College President.

Tom Lux, B.A.

Trustee Lux is a retired administrator with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union. Trustee Lux has managed a joint labor/management team of program managers and career advisors that developed training opportunities and assisted Boeing hourly workers with their career paths.
Eben Pobee, M.B.A.
Appointed: October 2019
Trustee Pobee is a finance manager with Fidelitel Telecommunications and earned an MBA from Concordia University. He is an active volunteer with a variety of cultural and arts organizations, such as 4Culture, JHP Legacy, Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, Edwin Pratt Early Learning Center, and the City of Shoreline.
Rebecca Chan, CPA - Chair
Appointed: June 2021
Rebecca Chan is a licensed CPA and Labor Efficiency Manager at Providence St. Joseph Health, with more than 15 years of healthcare finance experience. She earned a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in accounting from University of Washington, where she was active with Asian American groups on campus.
Kim Wells, M.A.
Appointed: June 2021
Kim Wells is Director of Organization Development and Learning at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and has over 25 years of experience in human resources and talent management. Prior to beginning her work in healthcare (at Ballard Community Hospital, Providence Medical Center) and cancer research, Kim was an English instructor at Seattle Central Community College where she taught writing and speech courses.
Rebecca Ringer, J.D. - Vice Chair
Appointed: October 2022
Rebecca Ringer recently retired after a 35-year career as a prominent trial lawyer. Prior to her Pacific Northwest law career, she practiced law on the East Coast for several years. She graduated with honors from the University of Kansas and later attended Cornell University School of Law. She enjoys time volunteering and playing tennis with her husband.
