Policy
Shoreline College District Number Seven (7) is permitted by the State of Washington to pay moving expenses for qualified new employees in eligible positions in alignment with the State Administrative and Accounting Manual (SAAM) Chapter 60, “Moving Expenses,” and RCW 43.03.060 and 43.03.110 - 43.03.210.
Qualified employees in eligible positions may be authorized by the President for a lump sum relocation payment or a state-contracted move. Lump sum relocation payments are considered a form of compensation and will be paid upon the beginning of employment at the College. Payment of relocation compensation must be made from the College’s existing resources. All personal moving expenses paid by the College are taxable.
The full amount of any relocation payment must be repaid to the College if the new employee terminates or causes termination of their employment with the College within one year of the date of employment, except in instances of layoff, disability separation, death or other appropriate exception as determined by the President.
