60th Anniversary Celebration Open House

sixtieth anniversary

Welcome to Shoreline!  We’re So Glad You’re Here

Today is a momentous occasion as we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Shoreline Community College (SCC). Sixty years ago, Shoreline was still part of Seattle, and Aurora Village was a bustling shopping center where shoppers could visit Woolworth and enjoy a hot meal at the buffet. In the midst of that era, a small college opened just north of the city.

Since then, SCC has trained thousands of community members in fields like nursing, automotive, dental hygiene, biotechnology, manufacturing, phlebotomy and more. Students from our local area and over 60 countries have earned credentials, and transferred to their dream universities globally.

From cultural celebrations to quiet walks on campus, Shoreline has become a vibrant center of learning and community. Today we celebrate 60 years of diversity and equity, community spirit, and a deep commitment to inspiring and supporting our students.

Thank you for celebrating with us, and welcome to Shoreline Community College!

Best,
Jack Kahn, President, Shoreline Community College
