Policy: 

It is the policy of Shoreline College that employees are provided with a College email account for the purpose of conducting official College business and receiving College-generated alerts, announcements, and other electronic communications as deemed appropriate by the College.   

The College will send all electronic communication related to official College business to employees’ Shoreline email accounts. Employees are expected to read email on a frequent and consistent basis as per the requirements of their position in order to stay informed and comply with college communications.  

Employees are expected to use their Shoreline email accounts or other College-authorized digital communication platforms to conduct all electronic communication related to official College business. This includes, but is not limited to, communications with students, fellow employees, state and local agencies, advisory boards, community organizations, contractors, and other external partners.  

The College expects employees to safeguard sensitive or confidential information transmitted via email and to comply with all applicable privacy laws and College policies and procedures. The College reserves the right to access and monitor College email accounts for legitimate business, legal, or security purposes, in accordance with applicable laws and College policies.
