NON-CREDIT: Career Training with Partner ed2go:

Shoreline offers a variety of career training and professional development courses to help students start a new career or upgrade skills. We choose courses that do not conflict with credit courses offered at the college so you might not see all of the courses offered in the ed2go catalog. Choose from instructor-led or self paced options. The ed2go course hours are estimated and not tied to a fixed weekly schedule since pacing can vary by student. Shoreline College will issue you a certificate of completion after you complete the course.

Interested in funding?

Shoreline College accepts some funding for eligible, approved students for non-credit courses including WOIA, Americorps, L&I. Students must work with a State approved funding agency whose ESD/case manager will contact the College CE department and provide a voucher for payment before the student is registered for the program. The final approval of training duration and benefits is determined by ESD/case managers as requirements can vary at the individual level.  Shoreline College defines full-time status for non-credit training to be 36 hours/week of time spent on coursework. See more details below.

  • If you already have funding secured and want to take a course through Shoreline College, please fill out the Continuing Education Non-Credit Funding Intake form
  • Shoreline College non-credit courses: Please reach out to workforce@shoreline.edu to see if you are eligible to apply for funding for a non-credit course through Shoreline CE.
  • ed2go courses: If you think you might qualify for funding or would like to learn about a payment plan, email: workforcerequests@cengage.com.
    • The ed2go course hours are estimated and not tied to a fixed weekly schedule since pacing can vary by student. Make sure that you research the estimated courses timeline/hours to make sure they are eligible for your approved training duration.
    • If you are applying for extended Training Benefits, some courses that are entrepreneurial or may lead to "self" employment are not eligible. Please check with your Workforce office before registering for any credit or non-credit course!
    • If you are collecting Unemployment Benefits (UI) and are choosing ed2go for your training plan for either commissioner approved training or training benefits, the duration of access will be different than noted on the ed2go website.  The ed2go catalog publishes the total hours to estimated time period required to complete the course but the duration will be adjusted to be compliant with the program's eligibility requirements. This is usually much LESS than the published completion time estimate.
      • For Shoreline College, 12 credits are considered "full-time credit status," meaning students taking 12 credits at 3 hours per week = 36 hours per week equivalent. For ed2go non-credit courses, students need to spend 36 hours per week minimum to be compliant with Federal and State regulations.
      • To assess the total weeks eligible for training benefits, divide the total estimated # course hours from the catalog by 36 hours/week for full-time status to get the total # weeks you will be eligible for benefits.
      • Example: 150 hours of an ed2go or College non-credit course divided by 36 hours/week = 5 weeks (4.16 weeks). Another example for a longer program would be 480 hours divided by 36 hours = 14 weeks (13.33 weeks).
