Financial Aid
Financial aid helps students pay for college. This financial assistance can cover educational expenses including tuition and fees, books, supplies, and transportation. There are several types of financial aid, including grants, scholarships, work study, and loans. Financial aid offers may include a combination of these various types of aid.
Important Notice
On April 26, 2026, the Department of Education made changes to the 2026-2027 FAFSA application that has delayed our ability to process files within ctcLink. Shoreline College cannot process any new or corrected FAFSA applications processed on or after April 26, 2026 at this time. The earliest we can expect to process files is late June.
- If you submitted your FAFSA before April 26: Your application has likely been received and is being processed. Please check ctcLink and your email for any required documents or updates from our office.
- If you submitted your FAFSA or made corrections after April 26: Your application cannot be processed yet. If you are expecting aid for summer quarter 2026 it will be delayed and impact our ability to place a hold on your account to protect you from being dropped for nonpayment. Please make alternative arrangements to cover your expenses until your financial aid is ready.
- WASFA and 2025-2026 FAFSA/WASFA applications are NOT affected. We are processing these files as usual. Students should not file the WASFA instead of the FAFSA because of this issue as it can create problems and delay aid further.
- We expect a resolution to this issue before Fall quarter begins. However, this does delay our processing and you may not hear about your Fall quarter aid until later this summer.
The college is working to minimize impacts to our students and communicate as much as possible. We do, however, encourage students to make alternative arrangements to cover expenses until financial aid is ready.
