Staff and Teacher/Child Ratios
The Parent Child Center is staffed by qualified early learning professionals. Each classroom has one Lead Teacher and one Assistant Teacher. Lead Teachers have a minimum of an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Some have a bachelor's degree. Assistant Teachers have a minimum of a Washington State Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalency. Some have an AA in Early Childhood Education.
Diversity
The diverse staff at the Parent Child Center is reflective of the Shoreline Community College student population and the children enrolled in the program. Many staff are bilingual.
Teacher/child ratios
- 1 to 4 for infants
- 1 to 7 for toddlers
- 1 to 10 for 3-5 year olds
Languages
The languages spoken by the staff at the PCC include: Spanish, Amharic, Farsi, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, and Korean.
