Mari Kosin (she/her), Director of Advising and Running Start

I came to the United States as an international student from Japan over 30 years ago. I started ESL classes at a community college and transferred to Western Washington University to earn a Bachelor degree in Human Services and Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education. In my early career, I worked with international students from oversea and helped them explore their academic and personal goals. In my current position as the Director of Advising Center, I am dedicated to create a sense of community where students feel supported and cared for during their educational journey at Shoreline.

Sunny Ybarra

Sunny Ybarra (he/him) Workforce and Pre-Health

I love working at Shoreline because of the students and have been here for )insert) years. Our students come from all walks of life and I enjoy the diversity that is unique to the community colleges. As a first-generation college student that was also a transfer student, I understand the important role Advising can play in students’ lives. When I am not working individually with students, I enjoy presenting to groups on a number of topics. Some topics include transferring to a 4-year school, writing a personal statement, and Academic Advising in general. I am also the liaison to our Workforce Education Programs.
