Study Abroad – Study Away Application Process

Application Deadline

Applications must be completed in full by their published deadlines. Please see the front webpage of each program for the application deadline.

Eligibility requirements to study abroad:

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Completed at least 15 college credits at Shoreline Community College
  • Have the ability to obtain a valid passport or travel documents to travel outside the U.S.A.
  • Be 18 years of age or older by start of the program. Some home-stay based programs allow 17-year-old students to participate. Please enquire with the study abroad advisor.
  • International students are welcome to participate!

A complete application includes:

  • The online application form
  • A personal essay describing the reasons why you want to participate, what you hope to accomplish, and how you hope to incorporate this experience into your future academic or career plans.
  • An unofficial college transcript
  • One recommendation form from an SCC instructor
  • When all materials have been submitted, a study abroad coordinator will contact you to set up a meeting. This meeting must be completed by the application deadline.
