American Opportunity Credit 1098-T Information
The American opportunity credit is a tax credit to help pay for education expenses paid for during the first four years of education completed after high school.
Review your 1098-T IRS Tuition Statement to help you determine whether the tuition and fees you have paid qualify for higher education tax credits. The 1098-T form is only available to students who pay tuition out of pocket. Those who receive financial aid for all of their tuition will not have a 1098-T form.
