Shoreline offers several summer camps for kids and teens! Topic areas include computer programming/coding, video game design, forensic science, biotechnology, art, athletics and more! Camps are scheduled July 3rd to August 27th, 2023. Camps open for registration on March 1st, unless otherwise noted.

Basketball Camps
Basketball Camps at Shoreline are back! Campers will work with Shoreline’s team staff Aaron Mackey and Rodney Walker and college players. These camps are very popular so early registration is recommended.

Black Rocket STEAM Camps
Shoreline Community College is proud to offer online STEAM camps in partnership with Black Rocket, a leader in national tech-education, for Summer 2023 - both online and in person on Shoreline's campus!
Black Rocket’s distinct programs in Creative Sciences and Digital Arts focus on the intersection of creativity and technology. Each course emphasizes self-empowerment, cognitive reasoning, and divergent thinking through hands-on learning. Whether in the classroom or the cloud, we believe every human being is unique in their ability and talents. Black Rocket's mission is to help ignite, unleash, and enhance these distinct talents.
In-Person Camps
Held in person on Shoreline's campus, choose from age-appropriate camps on four week-long sessions. Depending on the session, topics covered include coding, 3D video game design, Minecraft, Roblox, video special effects, virtual reality, and so much more!
Ages: Camps are grouped for students age 8 - 11 years old and 11 - 14 years old. Lunch coverage will be provided if student chooses to take 2 sessions during the week.

Online Camps
Online classes run Monday through Friday with live instructors. Choose from age-appropriate camps in both the morning and afternoon to build the perfect schedule! Topics covered include coding, video game design, eSports, Roblox, Minecraft, video special effects, virtual reality, and so much more! See the technical requirements for online camps. Tech support is provided up to and after the start of camps.
Ages: Camps are grouped for students age 8 - 11 years old and 11 - 14 years old

Filmmaking with Rising Reels
This camp will introduce students to learning about how to create a short film with an introduction to professional film equipment. Students will learn to create concepts and characters, script writing and the elements inside producing and directing to shoot their own short film. Requires a cell phone with recording abilities, a tripod, and a mounted camera mic, water bottle, and a snack.

KIMSeattle Forensic Science Summer Camps
KIMSeattle (Kids in Medicine and Science) is a nonprofit organization that provides K-12 informal science education through authentic laboratory experiences. Camp participants will immerse themselves in a fictitious, yet realistic, simulated crime and spend the week solving the case. Collected evidence from the recreated scene is analyzed using eight different fields of forensic science. More details can be found at kimseattle.orgor you can email info@kimseattle.org.

Margaret Royzen is a professional software developer with more than 30 years of experience, holds an MS in Computer Science and is certified as a C# Programmer and a C# Web Developer. All of the camp and coding/game design teaching material has been developed or customized to cover specific language syntax and best design and programming techniques.

PROJECT BIOTECH
PROJECT BIOTECH camps are back! Shoreline Community College's Biotechnology Lab opens its doors to high school students for week-long explorations of biotechnology and DNA sequencing. At PROJECT BIOTECH, students will experience hands-on lab and bioinformatics activities in Shoreline's state-of-the-art Biotechnology Lab, as well as work with scientists and be exposed to potential careers.
Ages: Current 8th through 11th graders. 12th grade student applications will be reviewed after June 15 if there are camp openings available. Alumni welcome to attend the Biotechnology & Cancer camp.

Shorelake Arts Council Youth Camps for 1st-12th Grade Artists
Art Adventures allow students in grades 1-12 to work with professional artists to make art, learn creative skills, interact with others, and have tons of fun! More than 200 students attended Art Adventure camps in 2022, making it one of the largest visual arts camp programs in the region.

Steel Toe Teens Camp - FULL!

Steel Toe Teens is a 3-day indoor/outdoor summer camp created by Washington Women in Trades where girls, ages 11-14, will learn the basics of tools; safety, mechanics and skills. Yes! They’ll learn to use power tools! Learning objectives include the basics of tool use; safety, mechanics and skills. Students will work together just as they would on a job, learning to respect and connect to create a project.

Shoreline's Continuing Education is offering more youth classes and workshops this spring and summer! Spring registration begins March 1st and classes begin April 3rd, 2023 through June 16th, 2023.
Summer registration begins June 1, 2023 and classes are scheduled July 3rd to August 27, 2023.

Class size for all groups is limited 10 to 48 students, depending on the session and camp.
An adult will be present 15 minutes before each class starts and 15 minutes after the class ends. For your child’s safety, please let us know of any relatives who might be picking up your child after the class ends. That way we can ensure your child always leaves with the right person. There will be a section for this information on our Emergency Contact Form.
Click the button above and you will be directed to the Continuing Education Course Catalog and online registration page where you can pay with a credit card.
Call the Continuing Education office and we can help register your student over the phone and discuss your payment options. If you come to campus, you will be directed to the Shoreline Community College Cashiers in the #5000 Building, main floor, to pay with a credit card or check to complete the transaction.
If you are registering a new student, use their name and birth date to set up the profile. You will be able to provide your name in a different screen.
Each student should be entered individually with their own online profile. Make sure to exit back to the home registration menu before registering a second student.
Effective April 2, 2022, masks will be voluntary on Shoreline's campus, both indoors and outdoors.

Policies and Consent Information
To cancel a registration and withdraw from a class, contact the Continuing Education office by phone at (206) 546-6966 or emailing continuing-ed@shoreline.edu three (3) business days prior to the start of the class. You will be refunded 100% of the course minus a $10 processing fee. No refund will be made after that date. There are no partial refunds.
Shoreline Community College reserves the right to cancel a class. In the rare event of a cancellation, you will be notified at the latest one week before the class start date and will receive a 100% refund.
If you have registered for a science camp on campus, you will be sent parental consent/waiver paperwork to the email address you provided during registration.
For campers attending volleyball camp, any Black Rocket STEAM camps, programming/computer camps, or youth workshops and classes, please fill out the Parental Consent Form by the first day of camp. You can print it out, complete it, and bring it to the first day of camp or you can fill it out digitally and email it to Suzanne Gugger at sgugger@shoreline.edu by the first day of camp.
