(Preparing for) Medicine

Program Description

The Associate in Science Transfer (AS-T) degree is designed to prepare students for entrance into a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program. The primary focus of the AS-T degree is completion of the necessary math and science requirements for junior standing in math, science and engineering programs at Washington state baccalaureate institutions. Students will be required to take additional general education courses after transfer to fulfill university requirements. While students do not need a specific science degree to enter medical school, the AS-T degree includes many prerequisite course requirements. Students who plan to study a non-science major should consult other major planning guides and may follow the AA-DTA or AA-Individualized Plan degree. For more detailed information, visit our Health Professional Preparation webpage.
