Our Engineering and Computer Department is designed to give students hands-on experience with the tools, languages, and systems that power the digital world. Our courses are high engagement, where students create relationships with their instructors to facilitate individualized support when needed. Our department strives to equip students with strong technical knowledge coupled with team-oriented soft skills that are necessary to be successful in industry.

Engineering
The Engineering program at Shoreline prepares students for transfer to universities around the country in a variety of areas. Our Engineering students go on to specialize in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and more. During their time at Shoreline, engineering students learn the foundations of engineering including statics, dynamics, and mechanics. Students can also learn CAD, how to work with electrical devices, and how to think critically.
Computer Science
The Computer Science program at Shoreline prepares students for successful transfer to universities nationwide in pursuit of a variety of technical degrees. Our Computer Science students go on to pursue further coursework in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, Human Centered Design and Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and more. During their time at Shoreline, computer science students learn how to code and problem solve in python, Java, and C++. We also offer electives such as Computing & Society to offer additional perspectives and learning around coding and the Software Industry.
Computer Science Program Options:
- Non-degree seeking, transfer (students take transfer admission courses for Bachelors or Masters program at other colleges or universities)
