About ctcLink

On February 28th, 2022 Shoreline transitioned to a new software system called ctcLink, a mobile-friendly self-service portal that manages access to registration, grades, academic progress, finances, and much more.

What is ctcLink?

ctcLink is a state-wide community and technical college project designed to replace our previous 35+ year-old administrative systems. Our former system used outdated technology that didn’t offer the integrated online services you need. ctcLink offers many services online in a mobile-friendly way to help you better manage your college business, such as enrolling for classes, managing courses, processing payments, tracking academic goals, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! You have a NEW student ID number (or “ctcLink ID number”) that you need. You will need your ctcLink account to register for classes and do a wide variety of other functions.

After you have activated your ctcLink account, you’ll only be using your new ctcLink ID number to log into that system. Keep your old SID number handy in case you need it for reference, but for registration and many other tasks, you’ll just need your new account.

Your current classes and Canvas should not be affected. You can still log into Canvas with your Shoreline email and password. 

No, your Shoreline Network Account go.shoreline.edu email address stays the same, with the same login information. However, you can update your preferred email address for communications after you activate your ctcLink account.

Shoreline's previous administrative systems were old and outdated. Washington State Community and Technical Colleges implemented the previous system in 1979. After over 40 years, these systems presented a serious failure risk and the database and reporting tools were no longer going to be supported. Considerable effort was needed to keep this antiquated system operational and that effort grew and become more expensive every day.
