Summer Camp 2025

Shoreline offers several summer camps for young kids 6+ and teens age 12-18. Topic areas include theater, music, art, computer programming/coding, video game design, film-making, athletics and more! Camps are scheduled from late June to the end of August 2026. Limited needs-based scholarships for the community are available upon request and approval by the partner organization or the College. Since Continuing Education operates as a self-funded department, we can only accommodate limited needs-based discounts, and we will send you an application or direct you to the partner organization.  Email continuing-ed@shoreline.edu for details.

Camps open for registration on March 1st.  Register in March and pay later in April! We will hold your student's spot and contact you to confirm registration and pay on April 1st.

Basketball Camps

Basketball Camps at Shoreline are back! Campers will work with Shoreline’s Basketball team coaches and college players. These camps are very popular so early registration is recommended. Camp details are below.

Black Rocket STEAM Camps

Shoreline Community College is proud to offer online STEAM camps in partnership with Black Rocket, a leader in national tech-education.  Black Rocket’s distinct programs in Creative Sciences and Digital Arts focus on the intersection of creativity and technology. Each course emphasizes self-empowerment, cognitive reasoning, and divergent thinking through hands-on learning. Black Rocket Online Camps

Online classes run Monday through Friday with live instructors througout the year. Choose from age-appropriate camps in both the morning and afternoon to build the perfect schedule! Topics covered include coding, video game design, eSports, Roblox, Minecraft, video special effects, virtual reality, and so much more! See the technical requirements for online camps. Tech support is provided up to and after the start of camps.

Ages: Camps are grouped for students age 8 - 11  years old,  and 11 - 14 years old

Location: 100% online

Back by  popular demand! Cascade Music is offering 2 camps this summer for young pianists! Dr. Jensina Oliver will other  host a "Creative Kaleidoscope - Music & Arts Camp" and "Piano Intensive". Limited spots so register early!

Creative Kaleidoscope:    Music & Arts Camp

Back by popular demand, Cascade Music is happy offer the Creative Kaleidoscope: Music & Arts Camp. Students will love exploring diverse projects in music, art, and poetry! This popular camp is for elementary to early intermediate students passionate about their piano studies. Daily schedules will include duets and piano team ensembles in the keyboard lab, technical work and music theory, mini-lessons with faculty on solo pieces, and composer spotlights.

Creating & Coding Video Games with JavaScript 

Students will learn how to create a video game from scratch and how to plan, design, and code a project. They will apply algebra to build expressions, use geometry to draw and work with shapes, learn to use coordinates and number systems, and take command of mouse, keyboard, and timer events while working on projects such as Paint, a Calculator, Treasure Hunt, Spellman, and others. The course is taught by Margaret Royzen, a professional software developer and a teacher of highly gifted children with 12 years of experience.
 

Ages: Camps are for students age 12 to 16 years old. Max 8 students per class.

Dandylyon Drama Summer Theater

Find your voice! Join us on stage as we spotlight your unique strengths in favorite songs from fun musicals. Our team of professional Teaching Artists will support your growth as a performer and team member. Gain theater etiquette, vocal technique, acting skills, and confidence! This class will culminate in an end of week Musical Theater Celebration for friends and family.  Students will be provided Dandylyon Drama T-shirts, simple accessories, and props for this showcase, so we can focus on learning how to wear and use individual microphones.  Each week will feature different songs and games centering student suggestions. Filmmaking:  Write, Direct and Film Your Short Movie! 

This age-appropriate camp will introduce students to learning about how to create a short film/video with an introduction to professional film equipment. Students will learn to create concepts and characters, script writing and the elements inside producing and directing to shoot their own short film on campus and in the NEW Shoreline College Recording Pod with a "Green Screen". Students will also learn to use editing software fine-tune their film. to Requires a cell phone with recording abilities, a tripod, and a mounted camera mic, water bottle, and a snack. Morning session includes "Minecraft Movie Makers" online content, followed by hands-on practice for filming, directing and editing in the afternoon.

Imagine & Create Studio 

In this 4-day hands-on creative camp, students will explore textiles, sewing, mosaics, and paper art while developing creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence.  This summer camp is designed for kids who love to make things with their hands. Each day focuses on a different medium, allowing students to complete a finished project they can take home including: wearable art (tote/t-shirt), unique hand-sewn stuffie, pop-up book, and lovely mosaic of their choice! No prior experience is required — all techniques are taught step by step in a supportive and fun environment. All art supplies and materials are provided. Supervised 30 minute lunch break. 

Ages: Ages 8-11 and 11 to 15. Max 12 students.

Steel Toe Teens Camp

Sponsored by Washington Women in Trades

Steel Toe Teens is a 5-day indoor/outdoor summer camp created by Washington Women in Trades where girls, ages 11-14, will learn the basics of tools; safety, mechanics and skills from trained, experienced women in careers in the trades. Yes! They’ll learn to use power tools! Learning objectives include the basics of tool use; safety, mechanics and skills. Students will work together just as they would on a job, learning to respect and connect to create a project.  Trades include (but are not limited to) masonry, carpentry,  pipe trades, sheet metal and more. They’ll build a some cool individual projects to take home AND one group project to share with the community. or more info: Washington Women in Trades (wawomenintrades.com). The program is geared toward exposing and encouraging young women to pursue careers in the trades. Note, this activity is open to any interested participant regardless of gender/sex, but the camp will primarily be made up of girls in this age group.

Summer Community Band

Join the Shoreline Community Band this summer, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Vongvithayamathakul (Mathakul) who is a full-time music faculty member at Shoreline CC and director of the Shoreline Concert Band. Learn challenging yet fun band music with community members and perform at the end of the course in our brand new Music Building performance space! 

Dr. Christopher Vongvithayamathakul (Mathakul) is full-time music faculty member and director of the Shoreline Concert Band at Shoreline Community College. Dr. Mathakul completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in instrumental conducting at the University of Washington, and earned a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Mathakul directed the Symphonic Band and served as Music Ensembles Program Coordinator at the University of Illinois Chicago and was Music Director for the Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque. Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Mathakul earned a bachelor's degree in music education at the University of Hawai'i and spent seven years as a high school and middle school band director in schools on the island of O’ahu, Hawai’i. 

Ages: Rising 8th to 12th grade musicians, with band experience., and adults of all ages! Middle school students with 2 years band experience welcome.

Summer Jazz Ensemble

Summer jazz ensemble is a 17-20 piece big band rehearsing and performing the music of the Jazz greats throughout time. Basie, Ellington, Thad jones. Along with more modern music such as Maria Schneider, Oliver Nelson and more. Throughout the course of the summer we will be a reading band as well as rehearsing to perform at local venues. Players will get the chance to work with other professionals as well from the area and make connections with each other. Students 16+. This is a non-credit class.

Soccer Camps w/ Shoreline Athletics

DETAILS COMING SOON! Shoreline College Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Obed Kouassi for a fun, educational week of soccer development. Young players will have the opportunity to learn from collegiate-level men's and women's coaches, and team players in a structured, supportive environment. Obed was born and raised in Côte d’Ivoire, and he honed his skills playing street soccer alongside neighborhood friends. His talent earned him a scholarship to a U.S. College, where he continued to excel both academically and athletically. Obed began his formal coaching career in 2013 as an assistant coach at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City before expanding his experience in 2017 coaching for Seattle Public Schools and West Seattle High School . In June 2023, he officially joined Shoreline Community College’s men’s soccer program, quickly transitioning from assistant to head coach. Early registration is strongly recommended. More camp content details will be posted on the registration page. 

Ages: 7-12 years -  boys and girls will be divided by age and ability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out our most frequently asked questions about about Shoreline's Continuing Education Camps.

Class size for all groups is limited depending on the session and camp. Register early because some camps and classes fill early. Athletics camps cap at 50 whereas some computer and art camps have maximum class sizes of 6 or 15 students.

An adult will be present 15 minutes before each class starts and 15 minutes after the class ends. For your child’s safety, please let us know of any relatives who might be picking up your child after the class ends. That way we can ensure your child always leaves with the right person. There will be a section for this information on our Emergency Contact Form.

Click the button above and you will be directed to the Continuing Education Course Catalog and online registration page where you can pay with a credit card.

Call the Continuing Education office and we can help register your student over the phone and discuss your payment options. If you come to campus, you will be directed to the Shoreline Community College Cashiers in the #5000 Building, main floor, to pay with a credit card or check to complete the transaction.

If you are registering a new student, use their name and birth date to set up the profile. You will be able to provide your name in a different screen.

Note: You will be sent parent consent/waiver paperwork to the email address you provide during registration. Do not use a student email unless you have access to it. Important information will be sent to that email address before the camp. Please check this email account and search your spam folder if you have not heard from us 1-2 weeks before the camp date. Camp parent waiver forms are posted below and will be sent 1 month before the camp date.

Each student should be entered individually with their own online profile. Make sure to exit back to the home registration menu before registering a second student. Let us know if you need assistance and we can register your student(s) over the phone.

Masks will be voluntary on Shoreline's campus, both indoors and outdoors. Please keep your student home if they are feeling unwell and contact the camp instructor.

 

Policies and Consent Information

To cancel a registration and withdraw from a class, contact the Continuing Education office by phone at (206) 546-6966 or emailing continuing-ed@shoreline.edu seven (7) business days prior to the start of the class. You will be refunded 100% of the course minus a $25 processing fee. No refund will be made after that date, some exceptions may apply.

Shoreline Community College reserves the right to cancel a class. In the rare event of a cancellation, you will be notified at the latest one week before the class start date and will receive a 100% refund. Refunds are made to the credit card used to make the initial payent for the camp.

If you have registered for a camp on campus, you will be sent parent consent paperwork to the email address you provided during registration. Please check the email that you used to set up the student account and search your spam folder. Important information will be sent to that email!

Please fill out the Parent Consent Form and email to the coach or camp contact as soon as possible. We need the completed forms by the first day of camp or your student will not be able to participate. Some camps have tee shirt orders that need to be processed in advance. Parents can use the editable PDF forms or print it out and complete by hand, and bring it to campus. If you have questions, please email continuing-ed@shoreline.edu.
