MLT Program Outcomes for graduate success on the MLT (ASCP) Board of Certification exam: Shoreline MLT program strives to meet and exceed the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) requirement of the last three active years average of at least 75% pass-rate for all first-time takers on the Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) certification exam by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) within the first year of graduation. Additionally, MLT Program graduates consistently pass the MLT(ASCP) exam, the gold standard for certification of laboratory professional, with significantly higher average scores than the national average test takers for the that same academic period. The minimum passing score is 400.

MLT Program Outcomes for graduate placement rates: Shoreline MLT program strives to meet and exceed the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) requirement of the last three active years average of at least 70% of respondent graduates either find employment in the field or continue their education within the first year of graduation.

Accreditation & Licensure
In accordance with U.S. Department of Education Regulation 34 C.F.R. 668.43 (a) (5) (v), the Medical Lab Technology (MLT) Program at Shoreline Community College has reviewed the MLT licensing requirements for Washington State and has determined that a Shoreline MLT graduate would be eligible for MLT licensure in Washington State. Shoreline Community College has not made a determination whether the MLT curriculum meets educational requirements for licensure/certification outside of Washington State.
