Transcript Evaluation & Transfer Credits
New and Prospective Students
If you have taken college-level courses at another college or university, you can use those credits here at Shoreline. To find out which credits can be used, contact Advising Services to make an appointment. If you bring copies of your transcripts, one of our advisors will perform a review of your academic record and also provide information about degree and certificate options available at Shoreline.
If you have taken college or university classes abroad and wish to transfer those credits to Shoreline Community College, please submit the International Transcript Evaluation Request Form to Enrollment Services. That form has complete instructions about the process. Please allow 8-10 weeks for completion.
Students planning to register at Shoreline Community College then continue on to a four-year institution should request official transcripts from all previous colleges be sent to SCC. Transcript evaluation is for the purpose of verification of academic achievement and is completed for general transfer degrees only. Request for transcript evaluation must be initiated by the student after submitting incoming test scores and official transcripts from previous colleges to Enrollment Services.
Transcripts sent electronically must be sent directly to Shoreline Community College via a designated provider to be considered official. E-transcripts sent to the student can be used for advising purposes, but are not considered to be official transcripts for evaluation purposes.

An evaluation of incoming credits may be requested by completing a Transfer Degree Request for Transcript Evaluation and submitting the form to Enrollment Services. Please note that it is not necessary to wait for completion of the transcript evaluation to register for classes.
Be certain you have fully completed the request, including your signature, including the items below:
- Check the appropriate box on the form if you wish a copy of the completed evaluation be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office or the Veteran & Military Student Services Office.
- Select just one of the options on the request form. If you wish an evaluation for more than one option please see your academic advisor for assistance.
Evaluations are completed in the order they are received. Please note that there may be a wait of up to 11 weeks for the evaluation to be completed. Generally students are sent notification to their Shoreline Network Account email address, with a copy of the completed evaluation planning guide, when the evaluation process has been completed. Evaluations completed in summer, and those completed for former students without a Shoreline email account, will be sent by postal mail. Enrollment Services provides one incoming transcript evaluation per student. Subsequent evaluations may be done in consultation with the student's academic advisor.
