Tuition & Fee Waivers for Children & Spouses of Deceased, Disabled, MIA or POW Veterans

Shoreline Community College will waive 100% of tuition & fees for the children and spouse of an eligible veteran or National Guard member who:

  • Has become totally disabled in the line of duty or;
  • Is determined by the federal government to be a prisoner of war or missing in action or;
  • Has lost his or her life while engaged in active federal military or naval service.

A child must be a Washington state resident between the ages of 17 and 26 to be eligible for the tuition waiver, and the child's marital status does not affect eligibility. Please note that while Chapter 35 eligibility may supersede the limit of 26, the state waiver currently does not.

Upon remarriage, the surviving spouse is ineligible for the tuition waiver.
