Hi, my name is Brooke Zimmers and I get the great honor to teach incredible students from around the world here at SCC.  I believe in an experiential approach to learning and so I infuse my classroom with lively discussion and group activities.  Students report that they work hard, learn a lot and have fun in my classes.

In graduate school I studied communication in instructional environments with a focus on adolescents.   I have taught at a variety of community colleges since 1992 and full time at SCC since 1999.  I have also consulted with corporations like Boeing, community organizations and I have worked with homeless youth.  Recently I've pursued professional development in the Art of Storytelling, Critical Multicultural Understanding and service learning.

Personally I have traveled extensively, climbed many mountains and love most outdoor activities.  I prioritizes community and work to create a learning environment where everyone knows each other and builds relationships.
