Equity & Social Justice Department
Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) explores social problems related to power and the privileging of groups based on social categories (like race, class, gender, sexuality, disability, and religion). ESJ includes Multicultural Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, and American Ethnic Studies. Our dynamic faculty emphasize reflection, identity development, exploration of the intersections of social hierarchies, and multi-level analyses of social problems, down to their root causes.
