Study Abroad – Study Away Application Process
Application Deadline
Applications must be completed in full by their published deadlines. Please see the front webpage of each program for the application deadline.
Eligibility requirements to study abroad:
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Completed at least 15 college credits at Shoreline Community College
- Have the ability to obtain a valid passport or travel documents to travel outside the U.S.A.
- Be 18 years of age or older by start of the program
- International students are welcome to participate!

- Each program will have unique requirements or pre-requisites. See the webpage of the program of interest.

A complete application includes:
- The online application form. For the Study Away in Alabama application, you may use this form.
- A personal essay describing the reasons why you want to participate, what you hope to accomplish, and how you hope to incorporate this experience into your future academic or career plans.
- An unofficial college transcript
- One recommendation form from an SCC instructor
- When all materials have been submitted, a study abroad / study away coordinator will contact you to set up a meeting. This meeting must be completed by the application deadline.
