International Student Orientation

Fall 2017: September 18 - 23

International Student Orientation is very important for your success. Every international student is required to attend. We recommend arriving at least two days before orientation begins. You can find directions to our campus from the airport here. To learn more about orientation, see the orientation schedule preview.

During orientation, you will have:

  • Math and English Language placement tests
  • a campus tour
  • academic advising and registration for classes
  • meetings with International Education staff
  • seminars about life and study in the USA
  • an opportunity to go sightseeing in Seattle

Optional Early English Language Placement Test: September 13

If you are planning on arriving in the U.S. early, you can choose to take your Shoreline English Language Placement Test before orientation begins. You will still attend orientation sessions beginning on September 18, but you may receive your test results and be able to register for courses early.

You can sign up for the Early English Language Placement Test here. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

An orientation fee of $60 (one-time fee for all new international students) will cover refreshments and other services during orientation.
