Often your donation to Shoreline Community College can be doubled by matching funds from companies and other foundations. Ask your Human Resources department for the appropriate form and increase your giving impact.

Please contact our office at (206) 546-4755 if you are uncertain if your company matches gifts.

Retirement gifts include donating the Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA after 70 ½ years of age or naming the Foundation as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401K, or profit sharing plan. Please contact our office for information on how to give to Shoreline through a retirement gift.

Bequests or planned gifts are gifts made through a will or life insurance policy when the Foundation is named as owner and beneficiary of 100% of the policy.

Shared Gifts allow donors to pool gifts and make larger gifts than they can make individually.

Please contact our office at (206) 546-4755 to discuss real estate donations.

Appreciated Stock/Marketable securities, such as those traded on a stock exchange, are also accepted. The Foundation will sell shares of appreciated stock immediately. The value is the average of the high and low on the date of the gift, in accordance with IRS regulations. Please call our office at (206) 546-4755 for stock transfer instructions.

Accepted Tangible Personal Property is dependent upon approval by the Foundation.

Sponsorships are donations given to support fundraising events for scholarships and programs. Tickets or tables can be purchased to attend an event.

Foundation Grant Awards can be made by personal, private, and public foundations.

Donors may obtain an appraisal for any non-cash contribution which exceeds $5,000. The appraisal summary of IRS Form 8283 must be completed and attached to your income tax return on which the deduction is claimed.

Foundation & Donation Details
The Shoreline CC Foundation is a separate 501(c) 3 tax exempt organization established in 1984 to provide funding for student and college needs not otherwise met by state funding and tuition fees. A volunteer Board of Directors composed of representatives of community leaders, business and industry professionals, alumni, and educators governs the Foundation. For the purpose of strengthening the development program and partially defraying related administrative costs, a fee of 5% will be assessed on all gifts and contracts made to the Shoreline Community College Foundation.
