Advising & Counseling Center

The Advising and Counseling Center, located in the FOSS Building, is a great place for students to obtain information about academic programs and counseling services. Counselors and Advisors provide students support, information and resources to ensure their academic success.

Advising
Advising is the collaborative relationship between student and advisor whose goal is to support students in achieving their educational goals. \Shoreline Community College offers both in-person and online advising services: Student Advising

Counseling
The Advising and Counseling Center offers career counseling, educational counseling, personal counseling and referral services. We recognize that personal and emotional issues, and the pain and stress that accompany them impact personal, academic and career satisfaction. If you would like to meet with a counselor, please call (206) 546-4559 or come to the Advising and Counseling Center, Room 5229. Services are free.

During the Summer Quarter, we will not provide ongoing counseling services.  We do offer counseling and community resource options and crisis information. Please check out Resources: Helplines, Hotlines, Community and Treatment Resources on this website or visit our office in the FOSS building, room 5229.  In Fall 2010, we will resume our short-term counseling services.  If you have questions regarding counseling options for the Summer please contact us 206-546-4559 or stop by our office in the FOSS building, room 5229.

Personal Counseling
Some students seek counseling during a period of crisis in their lives but you do not need to have a major problem before coming to the Advising and Counseling Center. Counseling involves expressing your concerns, questions and feelings, and identifying ways to handle them. > Personal Counseling

Career Counseling
Students may wish to discuss their career options with someone in the Advising and Counseling Center.  Knowing how to fit your interests with a long-term career will help you choose the academic program right for you. > Career Counseling
