Hello!  My name is Wendy Hurley and I am a professor of Mathematics at Shoreline Community College in Seattle, Washington.  Welcome to my website.

I am currently on maternity leave and will not return to campus until Fall Quarter 2008.  If you need to contact me, please email me at whurley@shoreline.edu and I will get back to you ask quickly as I can.  Otherwise, feel free to contact Shana Calaway (the head of the Mathematics Department) at scalaway@shoreline.edu or the Science Division office at (206)546-4567.

If you were in my M124 class Winter Quarter 2007 and would like to pick up your final exam, please email me to set up an appointment, or provide me with a stamped, self-addressed envelope and I will send it to you.  Here are the solutions to final exam:  versions a and b (8:30a), versions c and d (11:30a).  You can view your Winter Quarter grades (or any quarter grades) by starting at https://success.shoreline.edu/wts/waci002.html.  Thanks for a great quarter!

Placement Information

Before you can register for any math class at SCC, you will need to have met the prerequisites for that course.  The prerequisites for all of our courses are listed here.  You may take the COMPASS test on our campus to determine which courses are appropriate for you.  The COMPASS testing schedule is available here.  Here are some practice problems for the numerical/pre-algebra/algebra COMPASS test. And here are some practice problems for the college-algebra/geometry/trigonometry COMPASS test.  Additionally, here are some practice problems from Tacoma Community College.  Once you've taken the COMPASS test, you can use our placement chart to determine which courses are appropriate for you.  If you would like to talk with a math advisor, contact one directly.  All math advisor contact information is listed here.

If you are currently enrolled in a math class, but do not pass with a 2.0 or better, you may NOT take the next level math class.  For information on what to do if this happens, read this.
