Ancient Near East

1. Select any two links for Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Israel (either provided on the class page or found with a search engine) and provide a description of the scope and variety of the materials available. (Total: 6 items)

For example: How much material is available at the site? One document or thousands?

Who provides this information? An independent scholar? A museum? A university?

Are there images of artifacts or papyri that help explain these respective societies?

2. Use the Argos search engine (linked on the class page) to find more information about a particular aspect of Mesopotamian and Egyptian society either discussed in class or in the readings or text. Briefly describe what you were able to find and your assessment of the source.

3. Using any of the specialized search engines, and or Library databases (Proquest, Ebsco)

find one article dealing with the Ancient Near East and write a one paragraph summary of the thesis. Provide a full bibliographic citation as well as the URL for online sources.
