| Student Advising
Introduction
At Shoreline Community College, academic
advising is central to student success. Advising is the
collaborative relationship between student and advisor whose goal is
to support students in achieving their educational goals.
All students will be assigned a faculty
advisor by staff, based on the area of interest as indicated on the
college application or registration form.
When should you contact your advisor?
- To select courses before registering
for the next quarter
- To add or drop classes
- To apply for graduation
- To discuss academic difficulties
- To information about student support service
- To discuss transfer requirements
As a student, it is your responsibility
to meet all graduation requirements. Your advisor only assists you
and is not responsible for your total planning.
Students may request a change of advisor
at any time by going to the Advising/Counseling Center, or
Enrollment Services (Registration/Information) both located in the
main floor (2nd floor) of the FOSS building (5000 building).
