A note about access to the building prior
to formal occupancy:
Until the building is formally turned
over to the college, the contractor retains responsibility and
controls access to the space and the fenced perimeter. Our
contractor has been very cooperative in allowing the college access
for essential needs (e.g., telecommunications work, delivery and
assembly of furniture, work with our food service vendor in the
kitchen). Without such access, the college would have been required
to wait until after the contractor was completely finished with the
building to undertake these tasks. Prior to formal turnover
(expected late in the week of March 24), however, the college cannot
grant general access except to specific employees for specific
necessary purposes. Requests for such access should be addressed to
Sharon Wines in the Office of Administrative Services, extension
7859. Even with a request, it may not be possible to allow access on
certain days due to anticipated testing, inspections, or other
activities that would be compromised by excess traffic. We
appreciate your cooperation and are confident that college staff,
faculty, and students will find that the building is well worth the
wait.
