SCC’s 2002-03 Perkins plan was selected as a model plan for the state
2003-04 Perkins plan again selected as model plan
Funding allocation = $241,156.

HIGHLIGHTS
Students reporting “prepared for work” on the increase
Post-graduate survey of SCC students indicated that 369 students were “prepared for work” in the baseline years of 1998-99
The 2001 survey shows 604 students are prepared for work
Net increase = 63%

Professional-Technical Education serves all students who are seeking to reach their full potential through wage and skill progression with direct links to high demand, high wage work.

STUDENTS
Populations represent four major workforce markets:
Emerging workforce- 22 years and under who are preparing for their first full-time employment.
Transitional workforce- career changers who are moving from one career to another.
Entrepreneurial workforce- people who operate and own small to medium sized businesses.
Current workforce- employed individuals who need upgraded skills and therefore training.
