Introduction
History in general has been my passion. I enjoy learning how governments have developed and how people’s lives were affected. I am fascinated with the daily lives of ancient and medieval people. As I was born and raised in Japan, I developed a curiosity of how Japan was formed and who the Japanese people are. In fall 2001, I had an opportunity to go to Hokkaido, Japan and visited Ainu villages. That was an educational experience for me.
