Message from the President

Shoreline Community College is dedicated to excellence and to the success of our students. As technology evolves, the needs of business and industry change -- and so do the needs of our students. Our accomplished faculty and well-trained staff are working hard to prepare our students to become successful academically and in the workforce.

Our students are often juggling a variety of responsibilities and managing tight schedules. In addition to a full complement of morning classes, Shoreline is now offering more afternoon, evening and weekend classes. Distance learning class offerings are also expanding. Students can register online and access other web-based services such as academic advising, library services and scheduling. Every student receives a personal e-mail account and has access to updated, open computer labs. Eventually we plan to offer more online services including an online college bookstore.

Shoreline is also proud to provide our students one of the finest community college transfer programs in the state. You will find that classes are smaller and the quality of instruction is very high. Shoreline students who complete their first two years of college on our campus perform as well as or better than students who began their college education at a four-year institution do.

Shoreline has a beautifully landscaped campus brimming with student life - student and ethnic clubs, social and cultural events, intramural sports, study-abroad programs and leadership opportunities in student government. The music and drama programs are exceptional and enhance the richness of campus culture.

In recent years Shoreline has focused on the development of a superb array of programs that include more than 50 professional/technical degree or certificate options designed to prepare students for immediate employment. Each of our programs strives for excellence by keeping current with the needs of today's workplace and incorporating the latest technologies into the curriculum.
