Equity has to do with everyone having access to fair and equal treatment under the law, regardless of race, social class or gender. Social Justice extends the concept of equity to include human rights as part of the social contract.

Students will develop awareness, knowledge and skills in issues of race, social class, gender, ability and sexual orientation, with emphasis on social action. Students will learn to discuss these controversial issues knowledgeably, with concrete examples from history and their own experience.
