Records
  • I did not do as well in a class as I had hoped, can I re-take it?

Yes, you can repeat a course an additional two times to improve a grade, but credit is applied only once.  To repeat a course, register for the course and then fill out and submit the Repeated Course Notice to Records in the FOSS Building.  Only the highest grade for the course will be used in computing the grade point average.  The lower grade remains on the transcript and is designated with an “R” to indicate the course has been repeated. (Only decimal grades are used in GPA calculation, this includes "V" grades.)

  • Can I transfer credits from another college to Shoreline CC?

Yes.  To transfer credits from another college you will need to have your official transcripts from that college sent to our Admissions Office.  To have your incoming transcripts evaluated for a transfer degree please fill out the Transfer Degree Request for Transcript Evaluation form and return it to Enrollment Services.  If you are taking classes for a certificate program please contact your program advisor for an evaluation.
(Please note: Only Shoreline credits show on your Shoreline transcript.)

  • My health insurance needs proof that I am a full time student, how can I get  this?

Enrollment Verifications can only be made after the 10th day of each quarter.  There are two ways a student can obtain an enrollment verification.  You can click here, enter your SID and PIN and you will be taken the National Clearing House website.  Follow the directions on the screen to print out your verification.  If you need a signed letter with the college seal you can fill out the Request for Enrollment Verification form and submit it to Enrollment Services.  Please allow a minimum of 3 business days for your request to be completed.
Employers & agencies can contact the National Student Clearinghouse by clicking here .

  • I just checked my transcript and I am missing a grade. What do I do?

First, contact your instructor or the division office. This is the first stop on your grade's journey. If you have already gone through this first step and still don't have what you need, contact the Registrar's office, located on the main floor of the FOSS building.

  • How do I change my name on my Shoreline records?

If a spot opens up for you in the class before the quarter starts you will automatically be enrolled. You can check the status of the waitlist online by clicking here. The automatic waitlist shuts off after the third day of the quarter so if you have not been officially added to the class by this time, you will need to get permission from the instructor to add the class.

  • How can I get a copy of my current course schedule?

To view and/or print a copy of your current schedule please click here.

  • Are grades mailed out at the end of each quarter?

No, grades are not mailed to students.  To view your grade for a quarter click here and you will be taken to the “Grades and Unofficial Transcripts” page.  Follow the directions on the page and you will be able to view your grades.

  • I got dropped from my classes because I did not pay my tuition.  What should I do to get back into my classes?

If you were dropped from your classes before the quarter started you can re-register for your classes.  However, if one or more classes are now full you will need to put yourself on the waitlist.  If you were dropped after the quarter has started and it is after the 5th day of classes you will have to get instructor permission for each class for which you wish to re-register.

  • When is my tuition due?

If you register before the quarter starts generally your tuition is due within 5 business days or the first day of the quarter whichever comes first.  If you register after the quarter starts your tuition is due within 24 hours.  Deferment options are available.  You can contact Registration at (206) 546-4611 for more information.

  •  Can I drop a class after the quarter starts?

If you drop a class the first week of the quarter you get an 80% refund for the tuition that was paid.  If you drop a class the second week through fourth weeks of the quarter you get a 50% refund*.  No refunds are granted after the fourth week of the quarter.

*Summer quarter deadlines differ.  Please refer to the Summer class schedule.

  • Can I add a class after the quarter starts?

Yes, you can add classes during the first week of the quarter if the class is open.  If the class is full you will need permission from the instructor.  During the second week of the quarter* you will need instructor permission to add a class even if the class is open.  During the third week and fourth weeks of the quarter* you will need permission from the instructor and the division dean to add a class, plus you will be charged a $15 add/drop fee.

*Summer quarter deadlines differ.  Please refer to the Summer class schedule.

  • Do senior citizens get discounted  tuition?

Yes.  Students age 60 and older qualify for the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver.  Under this program a student pays a $5.00 non-refundable fee per quarter plus per credit college fees.  The $5.00 fee does not include special fees  specific to individual classes, such as computer lab fees.  The student will be required to pay any and all special fees.  Senior Waiver students can take up to 2 classes for the quarter at this discounted rate.  Students should go to class beginning the first week and get the instructors signature to register on the Senior Tuition Waiver form (see below).  Senior Waiver students can register for classes on the 6th day of the quarter (4th day for Summer quarter) and payment is due 24 hours after registration.

To take advantage of this waiver, students must download a waiver form.  Students must get permission from an instructor to sign up for a class using the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver form.
