V.
Earth Week
a.
PUB issue – some classes are going to be
moved from the 1800 building to some rooms in
the PUB during spring quarter (because of
remodeling). This is an issue because that’s
where we’d have the speakers during Earth Week.
Perhaps things will work out though because the
classes held in the PUB rooms are probably going
to be the more popular class hours (9:30 –
12:20)… we may have the speakers just present
afterward.
i.
For now stay posted for information
updates…
b.
Research speakers
i.
Group together ideas/themes (oceans,
biology, utilities, geology)
1.
Chip proposed potential speakers in
oceans and biology (birds).
2.
Ideas always welcome!!!
c.
Research for signs/trivia
i.
Justin and Chip collaborating for this.
ii.
So far this is the most developed part of
Earth Week events.
d.
Tables
i.
Information table – consisting of
brochures, handouts, etc.
ii.
Environmentally friendly products table
1.
Lamai is very interested in this, could
use things like bamboo products: textiles
(including socks, towels, bedding), water
filters (instead of bottled water), etc.
2.
Possibly items for sale
3.
Get donations/wholesale for some items
(for sale or giveaway for raffles, trivia).
iii.
Recycled goods table – Ray (revolving
around recycled art products including clay)
VI.
Bringing food for next time: Justin
VII.
End of the quarter party
a.
Chip proposed a trip down to the Edmonds
Water Park during an extreme low tide.
b.
Saturday, December 13 around 10:00 p.m.
is the scheduled low tide. We will probably meet
a little before that time.
c.
More details to come!
