Q: How do I determine which version of Java I am using, if any?

  1. Click the Start button on the bottom left of your screen and go to the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Java Coffee Cup icon link the reads Java Plug-in.
  3. If you are unable to locate this link, you do not have Java Plug-in installed.
  4. Click the About tab, and the version will be displayed (i.e., Java 2 Runtime Environment, standard Edition 1.4.1_04).

To enable Java scripting in Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on Tools in the menu bar
  2. Choose Internet Options
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Click on the Internet icon
  5. Click on Custom Level button
  6. Scroll down until you see Scripting of Java Applets (under Scripting). Set this to Enable and click OK.
