Gaming club now official
As of February 27 the Gaming Club has been approved as an official club by the Student Government.

Since their beginnings last October the gaming club has grown from a meager four members to about 17 members with Math teacher Mike Story as their advisor.

According to Jonah McIntosh, the Gaming Club’s official Kwisatz Haderach (the messiah of the Dune universe), the club is trying to become more involved in campus activities.

They plan to participate in this spring’s club kickoff, and have also expressed their interest in helping organize an on campus lan party.

Despite their already impressive club membership, current Gaming Club members aren’t done recruiting. “We want to encourage former members of the Chess Club to join because right now they’re dormant,” said McIntosh.

The Gaming Club’s other officers besides McIntosh include Kerrie Karr-May as the Empress, Jason Wang as the club’s Pokerface, and Eric LaFever who has yet to invent his title.

Currently the Gaming Club has been told they can consult with SBA Treasurer Lucas Meserve regarding their budget. They plan on acquiring their allotted money next quarter and spending it on much needed board games that can be kept on campus.

The Gaming Club currently meets every Monday and Thursday from 2- 8 p.m. in the student lounge, but will be moving to the Game Room of the PUB once it opens on March 31, the first day of next quarter.

Student Survey hits the Web
The online student survey was posted on the SCC website two weeks ago. The intent is to gather information that would assist the Student Body Government (SBG) in more accurately addressing the issues related to campus. Questions range from “Are there areas on campus where you do not feel safe?” to “Are you satisfied with the current gym hours?”

The survey was compiled using suggestions found on the “Student Suggestion Board” in the lower level of the Library. It highlights key current issues such as safety on campus and also the requirement of PE to graduate. The test is complied of 26 mostly yes and no questions with spaces to enter comments.

This survey is an attempt to bridge the gap between the students and those who represent us.

The survey can be found at the “Current Students” page of shoreline. edu or on Blackboard under “Blackboard Student Information Center.” It will be on the site until Friday March 21.
