The SCC Drama and Cinema departmen took the road less traveled this winter and is resurrecting two radio plays from Orson Welles’ era.

There will be two plays included in their repertoire for this quarter: “The Hitchhiker” and “Sorry Wrong Number,” both written by Lucille Fletcher.

These productions were initially broadcast via radio circa 1938 in the company of the famous Welles, a radio and film actor. Both are suspenseful, exciting stories told and produced in the film noir genre, and should be a breath of fresh air from SCC’s ever-thriving theater department.

The plays will open on November 30 and also be available for your patronage on December 1 and December 5-8. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $7 for students. They can be purchased at the door or reserved ahead of time by calling (206) 546-4606.
