Brian thinks you should...

Go see Movielife, One Line Drawing, Vendetta Red, and A Static Lullaby April 1 at the Showbox. Tickets $10 adv. or $12 DOS, doors @ 6 (all ages). Although they play around town all the time you should definitely see Vendetta Red at least once before they get too big for our dreary little rain filled town.
Go see CKY, Leisure, and Letter Kills Apr. 3 at The Graceland. Tickets $12 adv. or $14 DOS, doors @7, Show @ 8 (all ages). One of the guys in CKY is the brother of Bam Margera from Jackass (the one who harasses his dad), and although this doesn't mean all that much, the band itself isn't all that bad and worth checking out.
Go see Clinton Fearon with the Po'okella Street Band Apr. 5 at The Firehouse in Ballard. Tickets $10 adv. @ Ticketwest. Fearon's mix of roots reggae and dub is about as good as it gets for local acts. As well, reggae is the easiest music to dance to and it creates a wonderfully positive vibe that can't be ignored.
Go see Bright Eyes, Arab Strap, and Paperback Apr. 5 at The Showbox. Tickets $15 adv. @ Ticketwest, doors @ 6 (all ages). The latest Bright Eyes album is really good, filled with eclectively sporadic songs, structured in a non-traditional manner. His voice is almost whiny and really young sounding, yet his lyrics are really potent.
Go see Buju Banton Apr. 7 at The Firehouse in Ballard. Tickets $20 adv. @ Ticketwest. Like Clinton Fearon (mentioned above) Buju Banton perfected his art in the dangerous bars and clubs in Jamaica. But, unlike Fearon, Banton rejects reggae roots, trading it in for the younger mans "dancehall" style of Jamaican influenced music.
Go see "The Chef" Raekwon with special Wu-Tang guests and a Brazilian samba and dance troop Apr. 11 at the Northgate Theatre. Tickets $20 adv. or $25 DOS, doors @ 7:30. Raekwon is by no means as lyrically fluent as Meth or as technical as the Gza or the Rza, albeit his flow is undeniably smooth and effective.
