Focus on Writing for the Camera:

In addition to the General Video/Film Production courses, to specialize in writing, you will take Drama 217: Special Project Playwriting and Screenwriting, a seminar for students whose scripts are already in progress. The mentoring is designed to help each writer individually, and complete scripts become candidates to be produced in the Summer Idie Film workshop.

Other courses include the Acting Series, Drama 295: Improvisational Theater, Introduction to Drama and Cinema 201. Drama 156/157: Writing, Acting and Directing is core training for the screenwriter.

The screenwriter must also understand the unique possibilities of storytelling with moving pictures by taking Communications (CMU) 266: Video Editing and Post Production.
