About Shoreline Community College
Shoreline Community College was established in 1964 and for the last
forty years has provided outstanding academic and professional training
programs to meet the needs of a diverse student body as well as the
community. The school offers a challenging curriculum that focuses on the
educational success of all students. Smaller class sizes and dedicated
teachers and staff give students the opportunity for personalized
learning that is second to none.
Conveniently located just a short drive north of downtown Seattle,
Shoreline's campus is one of the most beautiful in all the northwest.
Situated on 83 acres, the school's 26 buildings are nestled below a rich
canopy of beautiful evergreens native to Washington state. During much of
the year, the campus comes alive with a sea of plants and flowers that
bloom in a dazzling display of colors.
Along with the school's scenic landscape, there is a wide array of
cultural and recreational opportunities to complement academic life. One
look at the long list of active campus organizations will show that
there's something for everyone, from arts and athletics, to languages and
science. Handy facilities include a visual arts building, computer
centers, laboratories, a student center, a theater, a gymnasium equipped
with exercise rooms and racquetball courts, a state of the art media
center, and the Ray W. Howard Library Center, with more than 70,000 books,
periodicals, videos, DVD/CDs and other non-print media. A
television/ITV studio is also available for video production and editing. The
interactive television service provides a two-way video/audio capability that
links the college to schools and businesses around the world.
