INTRODUCTION TO PERSONAL COMPUTERS

Unlock the world of computers! For beginners who will be using computers for work purposes, discover the basic skills necessary to operate a PC, a mouse and use Windows. Learn what a personal computer is, what it can be used for and explore application software. This class is recommended as a prerequisite for all Windows application software programs. WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL, LEVEL 1

Master the fundamentals of Windows XP. Terminology, managing files and folders with Windows Explorer, and how to use many of the applications that come with Windows XP are some of the topics you will explore in this introductory course. Beginner 2 level. Workbook provided.

MS WORD 2003, LEVEL 1

Word processing has never been so easy. Find out why Word is the most popular and proven word processing application in this introductory course. You will learn how to create, save, edit, and format documents; access online help; create and format tables;  use Word’s templates, wizards, symbols, fields, Find and Replace, and proofing tools to streamline your most difficult task. MS WORD 2003, LEVEL 2

Master Word XP in this intermediate level class. Learn to customize and stylize templates; sort and calculate table data and create charts based on table data; use graphic images including clip art, AutoShapes, WordArt, and organization charts; use columns, sections and graphics to create a newsletter; create form letters and labels with Mail Merge Wizard; create, save and preview a web page; and create and edit a hyperlink. Prerequisite: Word Level 1 or equivalent knowledge. Intermediate level; workbook provided.

Excel 2003

MS EXCEL 2003, LEVEL 1

Free yourself from the limitations of paper spreadsheets! By the end of this introductory course you will know how to create basic worksheets and charts by entering text and values; manipulate cells using a variety of moving and copying techniques; calculate data using formulas and functions; use a variety of formatting techniques; work with multiple worksheets within a workbook; and create and modify charts. Access 2003

MS ACCESS 2003, LEVEL 1

Build database management skills that will make your work easier. Set up a database and learn to enter, find, edit, and report the data it contains. Tap into the concepts and theories of relational databases. This introductory course will cover Access purpose and terminology, step-by-step database design, tables and table relationships, creation and design modification of select queries, and creation and modification of forms and reports.  Prerequisite: Windows Level 1 or equivalent knowledge. MS POWERPOINT 2003

Fun and easy presentations are at your fingertips - literally! PowerPoint is not just for business presentations. Students have produced impressive slideshows covering such diverse subjects as weddings, anniversaries, graduations, vacations, family histories, and professional portfolios. In this beginning level course, you will learn how to create presentations based on pre-designed templates, draw and modify custom objects, and add text, pictures, and sounds. You will also learn how to build tables and charts. By the end of this course, you will be ready to design your own slideshow! Prerequisite: Windows Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.
