How to use Internet Print Service in Library

Windows 7, Vista, & XP

  1. Download and run the Uniprint - Library 2nd Floor Printers installation program. If you have a personal firewall installed on your computer, you may see several "block message" pop ups during the download process. Select the option which will allow or accept the download to proceed. You must have these ports allowed:

    • Port 515
    • Port 28203

  2. Click "Install" on the dialog box.

  3. When complete click "Finish"
  4. In the Printers Control Panel you will have a new printer named "Library 2nd Floor Printer" as shown below.

  5. When you print to the printer you will be asked to create a username. You may also create a password in order to protect the document from being printed by anyone but you.

  6. The Pharos Release Station is located near the Reference Desk in the library. To print your document:
    • Swipe your Student ID card and type your PIN.
    • Select the job you submitted and click the Print button.
    • If you created a password for the job type the password.

Mac OS X versions 10.4 - 10.6

  1. Download the Pharos PopUp Client version 8.1 and install it.

  2. Follow the instructions in the Pharos PopUp Client for Mac OS X readme using the following settings:
    URL: popup://uniprint.shoreline.edu/Library2ndFloorQue
     Name: SCC Library Printers
    Location: 4000 building
    Print Using: HP LaserJet P4010 Series
    When finished click "Add". Mac OS X 10.6 Add Printer dialog

  3. Configure the following settings for the printers: Mac OS X 10.6 Add Printer dialog

  4. To print to the new printer, select it from the printer popup button in the print dialog of any application.
