Shoreline Community College maintains an open enrollment policy for all students who are high school graduates, have earned a General Education Development (GED) certificate or are at least 18 years of age.

Whether you’re applying for admissions for the first time or registering for classes as a returning student, you can apply to Shoreline Community College in Most enrollment processes are available online for your convenience.

1 - Apply for Admissions
For those students who plan to take college credit classes and are NOT in high school, you may apply online. To apply for admission online Just click  APPLY and you will enter the application module.  You will be notified by mail how to make an appointment for advising and registration.

Other students interested in Continuing Education, High School programs, ESL, or other should check for specific instructions before you apply.

2- Apply for Financial Aid
Financial assistance is available from many sources.  Review your Financial Aid options by checking the Financial Aid website.  You may obtain additional information by contacting SCC Financial Aid Office at (206) 546-4762.

3- Take the COMPASS or ASSET Test
Testing is required for all students planning to enroll in math, English, or courses designated “W” (writing).  Click for testing information or call (206) 546-4608.  If you have taken the ACT or SAT test within the last three years or have completed college level English or math, this can replace taking the assessment test.  Please submit your ACT or SAT scores to the Admissions Office. (SAT only: due to significant changes, only scores before 3/12/2005 are accepted.)

4- Submit your Transcripts
If you have attended high school within the last five years, obtain a final high school transcript to bring to your advising and registration appointment.  If you previously attended college, arrange to have official college transcripts sent to our Admissions Office if you wish to transfer credit from other colleges, meet course prerequisites, or if you plan to receive veterans benefits or federal financial aid.

5- Schedule a New Student Orientation Session
Orientation and Registration sessions are offered for all new incoming students. Once you have submitted an application, you will receive information about scheduling your orientation appointment. Click here: to go to the New Student Orientation Scheduling System.

Apply Online   or (International Students Click Here)
You can apply online for admissions to take college credit classes, including distance education classes, at SCC. Use this online application if you are enrolling in any college credit class including Distance Education classes. You will immediately be directed to our Applications site.
