Study Abroad Scholarships

Gilman ScholarshipThe Gilman International Scholarship provides grants of up to $5,000 to students receiving a Federal Pell Grant who study abroad. Contrary to popular belief, students have a better chance of getting this scholarship than getting hit by lightning. Much better: More than 1 in 3 applicants for the Gilman Scholarship receives some funding.

Tips for Financing your Study Abroad Experience

Studying abroad can be an expensive endeavor but anyone who has done it will tell you it is worth every cent!

Look for scholarships! Give yourself plenty of time.

Step 1: Shop around and make sure you are paying a fair price for the program.

Step 2: Apply for federal financial aid!  If you already qualify for aid, you may qualify for more when studying abroad because the cost of your education is higher. (This changes your "need" ratio.)

Step 3: Please contact the Shoreline Office of Financial Aid as early in the process as possible.
