Emissions Specialist Certification & Renewal

Program Information

This course is for both current Emissions Specialists who need to renew certification AND people looking to become an Emissions Specialist for the first time.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to meet or exceed the requirements for the testing of automobiles required under the Washington State Department of Ecology Air Quality Program Vehicles Inspection and Maintenance program.

In this course the student will be introduced to updated laws enabling the student to be awarded the Authorized Emission specialists Certificate. The course will be taught in 6 segments of three hours and 1 segment of two hours the final test. The Emission Check Hand book will be the basic text for the course and there will be handouts used to support specific areas of instruction as needed during the course.

About the Instructor

Fred Treadwell is an ASE Master Automotive Technician, ASE Master Truck, L1 and L2. He has over 20 years of experience as an instructor, teaching high school, college and automotive manufacturers. He has over 50 years experience in the automotive field!
