START Sessions
Student Advising and Registration Time (START) is an online tutorial for students that are new to Shoreline. Topics include advising, campus resources, English and Math placement, and registering for classes. This tutorial is required for recent high school graduates and strongly encouraged for new students. Upon completion (it takes about 45 minutes), you will be directed to Advising whereupon you can connect with an advisor to register for classes and talk about other important next steps.
Automotive students: If this is your first contact with the college, be sure to connect directly with the Automotive program first as START might not be necessary at this time.
Returning College Student
Do you have college credits or placement from another college? Then you should make an appointment with one of our Advisors. Stop by by FOSS 5229 or call us at 206-546-4559.
Be sure to look at our placement options so you have everything you will need for your appointment.
New to College Student
If you have never attended college, then you should attend a Student Advising and Registration Time (START) session. This session is facilitated by an advisor who will help you register for classes, introduce you to other new students, connect you with campus resources, and inform you of next steps before the quarter begins. Sign up to register for a START session.
Be sure to look at our placement options so you have everything you will need for your session.
Thank you for your interest in a START session. While the final sessions are currently full, you can still meet with an advisor to get assistance in choosing next quarter’s classes. Please call Advising Services at 206-546-4559 or email advising@shoreline.edu to check advisor drop-in times or to make an appointment.
