SCC Sweeps Edmonds On Friday, 14-3 and 23-1:

The Shoreline Lady Dolphin Softball Team swept by Edmonds Community College on Friday, by the scores of 23-1 and 14-2. 

In Game 1, The game was never in question, as SCC scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first and 7 in the 2nd to lead 15-0 after 2 innings. Vallen Brewer was the big bat for SCC, going 4-5, with 5 RBIs, 3 runs scored on with 2 triples and 1 homerun.

Sophia Overlock-Pauley added 3 hits and 4 RBIs while leadoff hitter Nicole Reyling added 3 hits and 4 runs scored. Syrina Bailly also had 3 hits in the game with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.

In Game 2, EDCC made more of game of it, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd, but SCC scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to regain the lead. The Tritons scored 1 more in the top of 4th, but SCC put the game away with 10 runs in the bottom of 4th.

Nicole Reyling lead SCC with 3 hits, 2 being homeruns, 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

SCC is now 14-11-2 overall and 9-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region, good enough for 2nd place. EDCC falls to 0-23 overall and 0-20 in the region.

SCC has a big week of games coming up, facing Douglas College on Tuesday, Olympic College on Friday (both at Shoreview Park) and Bellevue College at the University of Washington Field on Saturday.

SCC Softball Player of the Week is: Sophia Overlock-Pauley

Sophomore pitcher/outfielder, Sophia Overlock-Pauley, from Ballard High School has been named the SCC Softball Player of the Week for her performance this past week on the softball field.

Overlock-Pauley had 9 hits in 14 at-bats for a .642 batting average in four games with 7 runs scored, 4 RBIs, 2 steals and had a cycle for the week with a double, triple and homerun in her 9 hits.

Sophia also allowed just 1 earned run in 3.2 innings against #1 Ranked Wenatchee Valley CC on Friday.

For the week, SCC swept Everett CC on Tuesday, 13-0, 12-3 for key NWAACC Northern Region wins in a tight battle in the division, but were swept by NWAACC's #1 raned team, Wenatchee Valley CC in Wenatchee on Friday 8-0 and 6-1. SCC Softball is 12-11-2 for the season and 7-3 in the region.

SCC plays again on Wednesday at Douglas College and then returns home for a doubleheader against Skagit Valley College on Friday at Shoreview Park

SCC Softball Drops Two Games To #1 Ranked Wenatchee Valley:

The Lady Dolphin Softball Team dropped two games to the #1 Ranked Team in the NWAACC, Wenatchee Valley CC in Wenatchee, WA on Friday.

In the opening game, WVCC held SCC to 1 hit and shutout the SCC Squad 8-0. SCC held tough with Knights though 4 innings, as the score was only 2-0, but WVCC broke it open in the 5th inning with 4 runs.

In the second game, SCC hit with the Knights, as both teams had 7 hits, but Wenatchee scored 6 times and SCC could only muster 1 run on their 7 hits.

In Game 1, Alia Kelly took the lost for SCC while Sophia Overlock-Pauley got the only SCC hit. WVCC banged out 4 doubles and a homerun in the game.

In Game 2, Overlock-Pauley, Vallen Brewer and Alia Kelly all had two hits for Shoreline but SCC had no extra base hits and committed two costly errors, as 4 of the WVCC runs were unearned off SCC pitching.

SCC is now 12-11-2 on the season and 7-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC plays next on Wednesday vs Douglas College in a rain make-up from April 3.

SCC Softball Routs Everett CC In Key Northern Region Doubleheader:

The Shoreline Community College Softball Team routed Everett CC on Tuesday at Shoreview Park in two key NWAACC Northern Games.

SCC and EVCC are in a battle with Olympic College and Douglas College for three playoff spots in the region as league leading Bellevue has a 3 game lead on everyone else.

In the first game, Alia Kelly pitched a 5 hitter for SCC while the Dolphins banged out 12 hits with Devann Burney hitting 2 homeruns and having 4 RBIs and Nikki Reyling adding one homerun, 3 RBIs and scoring 2 runs. Sophia Overlock-Pauley had three hits, including a triple and scored 3 runs and Vallen Brewer adding two hits to led SCC to victory.

In Game 2, Katie Mason won her first game of the season on the mound with a shutout, allowing EVCC only 3 hits.

Overlock-Pauley and Brewer both had three hits each with both having homeruns and Overlock-Pauley adding a double.

The Lady Dolphins are now 12-9-2 overall, 7-3 in the region.

SCC plays at Wenatchee Valley on Friday at 1:00 PM.

Alia Kelly Named SCC Softball Player of the Week
Alia Kelly Named SCC Softball Player of the Week

Freshman Alia Kelly has been named the SCC Softball Player of the Week for her efforts last week against Bellevue College and Skagit Valley College.

Against Bellevue College on Tuesday, she did take the loss as the starting pitcher in first game but came back in the second game to pitch 4 2/3s innings of shutout relief. The pitcher/DH 3-6 from the plate, hitting one double and having 1 RBI in the doubleheader as the Lady Dolphins fell to the #4 ranked team in the NWAACC 9-2 and 12-6.

In the double rout of Skagit Valley College on Friday, Kelly got the win in the opening game to run her record to 4-2 for the season, allowing four hits and striking out four. She went 1-2 in the game, hitting a homerun, scoring 2 runs and having 2 RBIs. In the second game, Alia went 2-3, with a double and another homerun, she had 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs.

For the week, Kelly was 6-11, 6 RBIs, 4 runs scored, 2 doubles and 2 homeruns.

SCC returns to action on Tuesday at 2:00 PM as they take on rival Everett Community College in Everett, WA. SCC is 10-9-2 on the year and 5-3 in the region. The top five teams in the region are all within 2 games of each other, and only the top four teams go to the NWAACC Championship in May, in Portland, OR.

SCC Softball Routs Skagit Valley College

The Lady Dolphin Softball Team routed the Lady Cardinals from Skagit Valley College on Friday at Shoreview Park by the scores of 10-0, and 16-0. Both games were called in the 5th inning due to the 8 rule run.

In the first game, Alia Kelly ran her record to 4-2 on the season with a 4 hit shutout while striking out 4. Kelly also had a homerun, her sixth of the year.

SCC was led at the plate by Kelsie Mason who was 3-3, with her first homerun on the season and 3 RBIs. Vallen Brewer had 2 hits and scored two runs. Chelsea Lindroth also hit her first homerun of the year and had 3 RBIs. SCC had 11 hits as a team.

In the second game, three Lady Dolphins had 3 hits each including Sophie Overlock-Pauley who also struckout six from the mound while pitching a 3 hitter to led SCC to an easy 16-0 win.

Vallen Brewer and Chelsea Lindroth had three hits each as well. Ali Kelly hit her 7th homerun and Jarryn Vannatta hit her first.

The Dolphins scored 2 runs each in the 1st and 2nd innings, then blew the game wise open and put SVC away with 6 runs in the 3rd and 4th.
SCC is now 10-9-2 on the season, 5-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region and in 5th place. The top four teams in the region go to the NWAACC Championship in May. But only 2 games separate the top 5 teams in the region.

SCC Softball Can't Survive Bellevue's Homeruns
The Bellevue College Lady Bulldogs hit 8 homeruns on the day as BC swept the Lady Dolphin Softball Team at Shoreview Park on Tuesday. BC hit 4 homeruns in each game.

In the first game. BC stuck for 3 runs in the first inning on a 3 run homerun and another run in 3rd before putting SCC away in the top of 7th inning when they hit 3 homeruns for a 5 run inning. SCC scored two runs in the bottom of 7th but SCC struggled offensively the whole game, managing only 3 hits and only two runners to second base before the bottom of 7th.

In the second game, Bellevue exploded for 12 runs in the first three innings, 6 in the first inning while hitting 4 homeruns over that 3 inning span. SCC tried to battle with BC, scoring 5 runs themselves in the first two innings but could not keep the offensive pace up. Alia Kelly came in to shutout BC over the final four innings but the damage had already been done.

Vallen Brewer and Alia Kelly hit doubles for SCC and Nikki Reyling hit a homerun but the BC relief pitcher came in to hold SCC to only 1 run over the final 5 innings. Reyling and Kelly had 2 hits each for the Lady Dolphins.

SCC is now 8-9-2 on the season, 3-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC plays host to Skagit Valley College on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Shoreview Park field. Bellevue is 19-2 overall and 6-0 in the region. The Bulldogs are ranked 4th in the NWAACC.

SCC Names Vallen Brewer Softball Player of the Week:

Vallen Brewer, a freshman catcher/outfielder from Lake Stevens, WA, has been named the SCC Softball Player of the Week.

Brewer went 3-4 at the plate in a win against Olympic College on Saturday with 4 RBIs, 2 runs scored and had a double and triple in the game.

SCC dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 9-0.

SCC will face Skagit Valley College on Friday at 1:00 PM at Shoreview Park.

SCC Softball Splits With Olympic College:

The Lady Dolphin Softball Team was hammered in the first game against Olympic, 9-0, and then had to hold off the Rangers in the 7th inning of the second, to salvage a split in the NWAACC Northern Region Doubleheader.

SCC dropped the first game, 9-0, as the Lady Dolphins committed 6 errors in the game and the OC offense got 9 hits, including two homeruns. SCC was shutout on 3 singles.

In the second game, SCC had a 8-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning, but Olympic rallied for 6 runs in the frame to almost tie the game. Both SCC and OC had 11 hits in the game. 

The Dolphins were led by Vallen Brewer who had 3 hits, including a double and triple and 4 RBIs. Chelsea Lindroth and Jarryn Vannatta picked up two hits each while Nicole Reyling and Sophie Overlock-Pauley homered for Shoreline. Overlock-Pauley picked up the win for SCC on the mound.

Chelsea Lindroth Named SCC Softball Player of the Week:

Chelsea Lindroth, a sophomore second baseball from Cascade High School in Everett, WA, has been named the SCC Softball Player of the Week.

Lindroth went 3-6 with 7 RBIs in the Lady Dolphins doubleheader sweep of Edmonds Community College on Tuesday by the scores of 12-1 and 15-0. Chelsea also scored 2 runs and had a double and a base clearing three run triple.

SCC is 7-6-2 on the season and 2-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC plays at Douglas College in New Westminister, BC on Tuesday.
