SCC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper Lauren Schoonover Named To NWAACC All-Stars
Lauren Schoonover, a freshman
goalkeeper from Marysville-Pilchuck High School, was named as one of the three
goalkeepers for the North-West All-Stars, a combination of players from the
NWAACC Northern and Western regions, who play the All-Stars from the South-West
regions at the NWAACC Soccer Championships on Sunday.
Schoonover took over the
goalkeeper duties just before the mid-season mark of the year and recorded two

Edmonds Shocks SCC In Final Minute To Advance To NWAACC Playoffs
In a match that had overtime written all over it, the Edmonds Community College Lady Tritons stunned Shoreline CC in the final minute of regulation to score and win the "Play-In" game to the NWAACC Soccer Playoffs at the Shoreline Stadium.
In a match that had chances for both teams to score early on, the final minutes seemed to be heading to overtime as neither team could mount much pressure, but ECC had a solid shot on goal, deflected away by SCC goal-keeper Lauren Schoonover, but an unmarked ECC player, was in perfect position to put the deflection away and did.
SCC had less than 1 minute to tie it and could not muster any offense against a stacked Edmonds defense.
SCC finished the season 8-7-5 and 4th in the NWAACC Northern Region in the first season for Head Coach Aaron Howe. This will be the first time 7 years the Lady Dolphins have not qualified for postseason play. SCC had forced the “Play-In” game on Saturday by beating Edmonds 2-1 on their campus home field. SCC and ECC finished 1-1-1 for the season against each other. Edmonds advances to play the Community College of Spokane on Wednesday in Spokane at 1:00 PM in the first round of the NWAACC Women’s Soccer Playoffs. ECC is 13-7-3 overall.

SCC Women's Soccer Ties Whatcom 1-1
The Lady Dolphin
Soccer Team tied Whatcom Community College 1-1 in Bellingham, WA today and sets
up a big "Win or Stay At Home" match on Saturday against rival Edmonds
Community College. Edmonds CC is tied for second place in the NWAACC Northern Region
with a 8-4-3 record with Green River Community College. Shoreline is in 4th
place with a 7-5-3 record. If Shoreline wins on Saturday, it will at least be tied
for 3rd place in the region with Edmonds with identical 8-5-3 records. A SCC loss and the Lady Dolphins are out of
the playoffs. The top 3 teams in the region go to NWAACC playoffs. There would
be a "Play-in" game on Monday between tied teams for the final
playoff spot if necessary.
In the match on Wednesday, SCC allowed a goal in
the very first minute of the match, but Taylyr Mclean tied the game in 61st
minute. The teams fought to a scoreless tie the rest of the way.
SCC is 7-6-5 overall and plays Edmonds at Noon on
Saturday at the Dolphin Field on the SCC campus. Whatcom falls to 6-5-6 in the
overall, 5-5-5 in the region
