* SCC Women's Soccer Wins 1-0

womenssoccer2010.jpgThe Shoreline Community College Women’s Soccer Team defeated Whatcom Community College on Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field 1-0. Newcomer Chantel Avila scored in the 89th minute to pull out the victory for the Lady Dolphins. Avila from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, WA, had just joined the team on Monday. Goalkeeper Kaitlin MacKenzie recorded the shutout for the SCC squad.

SCC is now 5-6-1 on the season, 2-6-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region, but with the win, pulled into a tie with Whatcom for third place in the league and the top three teams in division go to NWAACC playoffs. SCC plays Edmonds on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field in the final home game of the season for the squad. Match time is noon.

* SCC Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Kaitlin McKenzie

mckenzie2.jpgKaitlin McKenzie, sophomore goalkeeper from Lake Stevens High School, was named the SCC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for her efforts in the 2-0 loss against Everett Community College last week. McKenzie only gave up one goal (first goal in game was defensive goal) to the Northern Region top team.

* SCC Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Game To Everett

The shorthanded Shoreline Community College Women's Soccer Team dropped a 2-0 game to Everett CC on Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field. The Lady Dolphins were without three suspended players for the game due to the breaking of team rules. The game was tied at half and SCC had played even with the Trojans in the 45 minutes, but ECC put the pressure on the second half and punched through with two goals.

 

SCC is 4-6-1 overall, 2-6-1 in the region while Everett moves to 7-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the region. Shoreline hosts Whatcom Community College next Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field in a 2 pm contest.

* SCC Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Stephanie Lim
lim.jpgStephanie Lim, a freshman from Shorewood High School, scored two goals in the SCC 4-0 victory over Skagit Valley College on Saturday and was named the Shoreline Community College Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The Lady Dolphins are 4-5-1 on the season, 2-5-1 in the region and tied for third place in the NWAACC Northern Region.
* SCC Women's Soccer Defeats Skagit Valley 4-0

The Shoreline Community College Women's Soccer Team broke a 2 game losing streak and defeated Skagit Valley College 4-0 on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field. Stephanie Lim scored two goals and Jenny Voss and Desiree Nickell added a goal each as well.

 

SCC is 4-5-1 overall, 2-4-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC hosts Everett CC on Wednesday at 2 pm. Skagit Valley falls to 0-10-1, 0-6-1 in the region.
* SCC Women's Soccer Falls to Edmonds CC
The Lady Dolphins lost to rival Edmonds CC on Wednesday night at Meadowdale High School 3-0. The loss drops SCC into fourth place in the region with a 1-5-1 record in the NWAACC Northern Division and 3-5-2 overall. SCC plays Skagit Valley College on Saturday at Noon on the pitch at the SCC Soccer Field.
* Player of the Week: Kaitlin MacKenzie
mackenzie.jpgSCC goalkeeper Kaitlin MacKenzie was named the SCC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for her performance in the 1-0 loss to the undefeated Community College of Spokane on Saturday. MacKenzie had several saves in the game to keep SCC close in the match.
* SCC Women's Soccer Loses to Spokane

The Community College of Spokane scored in the 19th minute and made it stand up as the Lady Dolphins could not muster a goal against the Lady Bigfoot defense.

 

SCC is now 3-4-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the Northern Region standings (Eastern Region Crossover games count in Northern Region standings this season). SCC opens its Northern Region schedule on Wednesday against Edmonds CC on the road and on Saturday, against Skagit Valley College at the SCC Soccer Field at noon.
